One of my favorite bands back in the good old days was Canada’s STEREOS, which you may remember from when I compared them to LFO back in 2009. I think they were a manufactured band that won some Canadian equivalent of “Making The Band” or whatever, and I loved/hated their song “Summer Girl.” Unsurprisingly, I never really heard anything else from them, although it looks like they still exist?
Apparently this is their newish single– pretty wack :( Reminds me of some crappy band who would open for Selena Gomez when she played in the parking lot of the Glendale Galleria or something. Definitely not feeling the ‘watered down electro’ steez in this song.
“Throw Ya Hands Up” reminds me of some of the incredibly gay, embarrassing FTSK songs where they flirted with rap such as “Hip Hop Chick.” Even worse, though. Also not impressed by the 30-foot boat they rented for the video shoot– not big pimpin.
Really, REALLY creeps me out how much he looks like a woman when he has that hoodie on. This is the song where all the little girls in the crowd can be like “OMG I can’t believe she broke his heart like that, I would never treat him bad if he was mine!!!!”
I’m NGL bro, I was super into the electro-y song. Also, “Throw ya Hands Up” = lolfactory. From the forced hip hop slang, to the forced hip hop slang said by white people, to the forced hip hop slang said by white people to completely harmless pop music that isn’t even in a minor key or anything, pure lulz. I think the lulziest part is all of the shots of the like six people standing in the three foot deep tiny pool. The epitome of “We can make this retarded scene seem relevant with creative camera work, but if you were actually watching this happen you would think it were completely fucking asinine.”

OMG HIS HAIR IS PERRRRRFECT. ANyway that throw ya hands up makes me wanna move to california, get a home with a pool and work out six days a week, albeit to a different soundtrack. Maybe they could provide the soundtrack/score/play as extras in the next Disney tween made for tv flick? A paycheck’s a paycheck bro.
