If you’re a Tumblr user or a casual observant, then you know that the NBC sitcom, “Parks and Recreation” gets a ton of love and thousands of reblogs. Most people seemed to be fixated specifically on Nick Offerman’s stoic libertarian boss, Ron Swanson.
A billowing tower of man and mustache, Ron Swanson is like the magical unicorn of hipster and hardcore ethics (straight edge notwithstanding). He wears sweaters, rocks facial hair, has a perfectly coifed haircut (like a rockabilly dude), and he indulges in eating breakfast food, a constant subject of food photographs on Tumblr.

[Fuck you and you're vegan bullshit]
Speaking of Tumblr, the motherfucker has a whole blog dedicated to the fact that he looks like a surly cat.

In any case, Swanson’s anti-government libertarian views would fit well with the likes of bands that cry out for fall of the government such as Anti-Flag, Against Me, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Strike Anywhere, Bad Religion or Subhumans.

[You know, John Kerry's favorite Blink member is actually Travis]
Actually, scratch that, Ron Swanson out does them because as a government employee, he’s destroying the government from the INSIDE, and not just writing some fucking shitty song about doing it while scouring for vegan-friendly treats at the food bank.
Most of all, Ron Swanson is the only white dude who can confidently rock cornrows and has a collection of firearms, so as to shoot your crappy Have Heart 7-inches out of your hands.

["Go to hell, you B9 scumbags"]
There you go: Ron Swanson: Ultimate Hipster and Most Hardcore Dude Alive (that exists within the realm of a fictitious television show).

I love the show/character. Big fan of the cornrows.
that is not how you button a 3button jacket
He was on Adam Carolla’s podcast the other day, turns out he is IRL an expert woodworker! They geeked out about routers and sanders for an hour.
There is a great interview with him where they discuss how he made a bong out of wood. It’s awesome.
“Fuck you and you’re vegan bullshit”
you are vegan bullshit?
He had a great 2 hour 20 minutes interview with Kevin Pollak this week (2nd week of june 2011). This dude is totally awesome IRL, and he’s married to Megan Mullally (Karen from Will&Grace).
One “untold” story that came out was he toured the world (mostly europe) for a year in his early 20′s doing with a company doing theatre in japanese Kabuki style interpretation of ancient greek and old english plays, and was a theatre fight scene coreographer (and fighting himself).
