It’s no secret that I miss the good old days of 2008, when it was all about MySpace, Kiki Kannibal and buying coontail extensions at Hot Topic. Cash Cash, J Bigga and Dot Dot Curve might be walking away from the golden age of scene music, but God bless BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR for keeping the spirit of Buzznet alive! If you were afraid they would join all the other bands who were trying to reinvent themselves as post-scene, check out their latest video, “Bewitched.”
My notes:
- Guest vocals by someone called “Lady Nogrady,” who looks like a 30 year-old hair stylist from Dayton, or maybe Ashley Tisdale’s less attractive older sister
- Video begins with them cavorting in some parallel dimension, which is apparently made up of cheesy, mid-90s After Effects presets (LOL @ how the black levels of the live footage don’t match the CG backgrounds)
- Next, there are some parts where Dahvey and the 30 year-old hair stylist go on “normal ppl” dates- my favorite is at 2:20, when they are canoodling on blanket in front of his dinged-up 2002 Sentra
- Not real sure about the next sequence… I think that a gothic version of the grim reaper comes out of nowhere, she takes off her clothes and has sex with some guy in a nearby RV as light shoots out of the windows
- LOL @ her Hanes Her Way briefs and tramp stamp
- Finally, some other guy shoots Dahvey and drives off in the RV and the old lady tries to bring him back to life
- Dahvey looks more like Final Fantasy 6 villain Kefka than ever
- The whole thing, both the song and video, remind me a lot of that 90s goth song “Stay” by Shakespeare’s Sister (as seen on VH1 Classic)

Much better “Bewitched” video-

Powerful shit.
ROFL hahahaha nice interpretation,dick.
you tell him :3
forgot to mention the PASSING OF THE ORB
This is the best music video I’ve seen in a while(srs).
but whats with the older chick? Maybe the dude doesn’t like 11 year-olds anymore.
Anyways, the RV dude was a fuckin boss. I like how he’s not even scene, just some ripped bro with a gun and an RV that happened to be in the area.
these final fantasy characters are everywhere in the scene world.

i see kadaj and cloud
and well, i guess all the other lead singers of other scene bands all look like kadaj or genesis. lulz…
“It’s no secret that I miss the good old days of 2008″… Man, I can’t believe how much i think about that too. 2007/08 was an awesome time.. Everytime i listen to early tdwp, drop dead gorgeous, catherine, gwen stacy… I miss those days. the scene was fuckin dank. Exciting albums are very few and far between now. Myspace sucked, but goddam, i was on that shit a lot.
Never heard of Blood on the Dance Floor until now.. the video was lulzy. Music was kinda boring.
Man that was really….bad. It blows my mind how this band keeps topping themselves when it comes to “we take ourselves seriously but there’s no way in hell you’ll be able to”-ness. Could be worse though. Could be Liturgy.
luv da subtle dubstep vibe!
BOTDF remind me of the mcgoyle brothers from it’s always sunny in philadelphia
That’s a great show, but I don’t see the connection between them and BOTDF.
New song was pretty good; definitely going for a more soft and introspective sound than the usual rapping and screaming about degrading shit. The goth grim reaper guy looks kind of like the scary demon from that movie Insidious.
goth grim reaper also reminds me of the shinigami from Death Note now that I think about it!
Ryuk homie.
Or did you mean Mello?
There’s also Sidoh and Gelus
On a seriousness note this is some serious witch doctor shit
Kind of a hybrid of Ryuk and Misa’s shinigami, actually
I look like a “30 year old hairstylist…” really? Weird. I’m in my 20′s from Cali. Dig it.

We kid because we love! This is a comedy blog, don’t take anything on here too seriously <3
You should keep those shades on. Your eyes are too close together.
i lol’d.
1. She is totally a Tisdale!
2. I think this video was a ruse to get her to make out with him. Would never had happened otherwise.
3. I had no idea there was so much goth in scene.
4. This video = WUT.
Sounds like a dubstep remix of Owl City but with WORSE vocals. Ew.
this video was amazing, dont worry bout what they say, @LadyNogrady, you were perfect
