Dat cover art… U mirin them mid-90s steez??
New Found Glory is without a doubt in my top favorite bands of all time (see my earlier post on their career for more info). Unlike most bands, who put out 1 or 2 good albums then everything else they do sucks shit, NFG’s catalog is consistently awesome, and I actually liked “Not Without A Fight” more than anything they’d done in years. I am stoked to see them back in action with a new single, “Radiosurgery.”
Is this a recent picture?? Looks like it, but WTF is up with their outfits– where do you even get a gas station jacket or mid-00s style track jacket in 2011? And why is Quentin Tarantino standing in the front?
This song is all, “When I am sad, I turn on the radio and then I feel better because music is a really meaningful part of my life.” I think every pop punk band has to have one of those, as well as a “life on the road song” about how its hard being in a touring band, but it’s cool because you are out there with your bros having the time of your life and you know you will remember this experience for the rest of your lives.
My first reaction is that I like this song, but I am not in love just yet. It’s definitely more punk than anything they’ve ever done, which is a little bit of a departure. That said, I’m going to give it some time- since every NFG album is a slightly different than the last, it usually takes me a few listens to really warm up to it. I’m sure I will love this one in time.
What do you think of NFG and this song?? Are Chad and Hayley still together? Will the next generation of bands write sappy songs about how much their iPod/Zune/Spotify means to them???? Like, “When I’m feeling down, I just stream my favorite songs on Spotify”?

sounds a lot like green day to me
They said this record will sound like Green Day / Rancid. Weird, huh?? And heck ya Chad and Haley still together.
No breakdowns? :(
Yeah I was a little bummed about the lack of breakdowns too :(
Once I saw NFG open for Snapcase and Ensign in Pittsburgh, and they got booed and heckled the whole time. Later that night I got in an argument with two easycore dudes over hardcore and how they though it sucks, but they new every word to a bunch of Snapcase and hatebreed songs. It made no sense to my 18ish year old self as to why they would listen to something they supposedly hated.
This kind of line up happened a lot in the late 90s and early 00s with hardcore and easycore bands. Usually there was no booing. There would be a crap of load of dudes in ringer tees, glasses and messenger bags tapping their chests to Saves the Day, then they would all leave and dudes in cargo shorts, new balances and hoodies would move in to pick up change to buried alive.
A month or two after this show NFG were all over TRL, and Snapcase just got played in snippits behind MTV reality shows.
I still haven’t given NFG a chance, and now that I am much older it may be time.
“where do you even get a gas station jacket or mid-00s style track jacket in 2011? ”
Kohls. I’m disappointed the fat bassist isn’t being whacky. wasn’t that his schtick?
This song sounds like what Disney would think a pop punk band sounds like in an Olsen twins movie where they both fell in love with the lead singer. Were all of NFG songs like this?
Kohl’s- ZING!
Ehhh never got into NFG, For most of 2007-2008 if you went to a local show it was that type of shit with at least two or three covers of this band or the get-up kids. makes me dislike them by proxy.
More importantly, what color is Hayley’s hair now?
Like the song though, I’m excited for the new album. I like pretty much all of their albums, Coming Home was kinda hit or miss (lolololol)
Their new song was alright. I just need time for it to grow on me (just like Blink-182′s first single). They will probably release a new single that has that “signature New Found Glory” sound.
Off topic: Blink-182′s 2nd single is bad ass!
