What do you get when you combine Jamey Jasta, Danny Diablo, Frank 3 Gun (Ringworm, Hatebreed) and a bunch of other scumbags, assholes, drunks and losers?? Answer: ICEPICK, a side project band featuring all of the above. They put out an album back in 2006 or so, and I have no idea why you don’t hear about it more often because it is a fucking CLASSIC of ignorant moshcore. My favorite tracks:

“Real Recognizes Real” features guest vocals by Freddy Madball, Paul Bearer and none other than Ice Motherfuckin T, who drops the pretty much the best intro in the history of hardcore: “Icepick motherfucker, it’s goin down faggots! Run and grab your mama’s skirt- this is real! Ice T, Body Count, bitch!” But Ice doesn’t stop there, he follows it up with an equally amazing pre-breakdown callout at 2:55. “You look like a bunch of pussies, move your fuckin ass! Blood on the floor of the pit, carnage, every motherfuckin man for himself! This is Icepick, show me some fuckin action!”
This song is pretty sweet, although it bums me out that they wrote it for Andrei Arlovski, who was the UFC heavyweight champ at the time. But then he started fighting real competition instead of tomato cans like Justin Eilers and Paul Buentello, he was exposed for having the glassiest jaw this side of Jonathan Goulet (1000 MMA nerd points if you know who that is), and struggled to finish Z-level opponent Ray Lopez in his last outting. But I digress– the song itself is sick!

“Born To Crush You” is easily one of the hardest songs ever written– if it doesn’t make you want to kill someone when they drop “WHAT I FEEL IS BEYOND HATRED” before the breakdown/gang vocals at 2:18, you have no soul and/or are a fggt.
Why doesn’t think record get more love? Can anyone talk shit better than Ice T??? U MOSHING???

I’m sure you have heard it, but there’s another excellent Ice-T guest spot on One Bullet Left by Six Feet Under, probably the highlight of their entire career
i completely flogged that album for like 4 months straight got old reeeeal quick after that. but heavy as shit though haha
fucking moshin’
yeah, definitely the best jasta side project (can’t get into kingdom of sorrow).
i can’t disagree that arlovski got the title because UFC heavyweights were mostly fat ex-college football players in 2005 (LOL at justin eilers getting a title shot coming off a loss to buentello), but arlovski did pretty well in 07-08. werdum, rothwell, and roy nelson were legit opponents — not top-tier by any means, but good enough. and he was doing well against fedor until he got sent to the land of wind and ghosts.
jonathan goulet: holds the dubious distinction of being on the wrong end of the unofficially fastest ko in ufc history. wasn’t he buds with gsp and that’s why he had so many ufc appearances?
yep, that’s Goulet haha. the sad part is he’s actually pretty good, he just has literally the worst chin ever seen in high-level MMA.
And yes, Arlovski did fight and beat some legit opponents. He definitely doesn’t suck, it’s more about how ridiculously thin the UFC’s HW division was that time. Justin Eilers getting a title shot really might the all time low for the UFC.
Real Recognizes Real has been a personal ignorant mosh favorite of mine for years.
still sporting my icepick crew neck hard after all these years.
Sgt D: Y U not give love to Bitter Twisted Memory??!!
In other news, this post sent me on a big Body Count tear. thx fuck yea
Sarge, this shit is old. It was lulzy like 3 years ago.
You should try reading the post next time! Especially the part where I said it came out 5 years ago!
Sometimes is fun to, you know, have fun. I love Icepick
Regardless of timelines everything on this site is relevant and awesome
Love this album, lift to it at least once a month or more.
There are so many song titles/lyrics from this album that I want on the back of a shirt, enough for at least a dozen different designs.
I HAD A VIOLENT EPIPHANY
I plan on getting swole to this, mad squats bruh
Agreed – Born To Crush You just went to the top of my workout playlist! Shit is awesome for cardio too.
Ice T did almost the exact same shit on Pro-Pain’s Put The Lights Out about wanting to see some action and some blood.
I saw Icepick probably 5 years ago (possibly with Bulldoze). It was hard as fuck. Basically they just played a few of their own songs, Crown of Thornz and Hatebreed songs, and covered Sheer Terror and possibly Murphy’s Law. That show was real fun.
I feel like if more people heard this they would shut their mouths about Winds of Plague being “posers”
i remember when this album came out i was 16-17 and “real hardcore” bros would mosh to this in the parking lot outside of lame scenie weenie shows. i still jam Real Recognizes Real a good half-dozen times a month, and i am constantly moshing when Ice’s final verse at the end of the song comes in:
“icepick punk bitch, blood in the mosh pit
dump ya with the full clip, masters of this hard shit
roll with the ill click, blast ya with the four fifth
straight out explode your dome and go home, POW!”
Fuck those who oppose.
