Slightly Ignant Hip Hop: Wale + Meek Mill Joint Mixtape

THE FUTURE OF HIP HOP????

Lately I’ve only been listening to either really funny hip hop, or ignant as shit hip hop, and there is a lot in common between those two. But what I’ve been finding more of is just slightly ignant hip-hop, lyrically solid rappers getting on just dumb as fuck beats (dumb is good). And its fucking awesome. So when I found out Wale and Meek Mill were dropping a mixtape together in 2012, I got pretty stoked.

I’ve been a fan of Wale for a while, and lyrically he’s never topping that first song right there, and probably never getting dumber than that second joint. He’s slowly moved on from that lyrical focus, to trying to be on the radio with his first album, to signing with Rick Ross and getting on a lot of ignant beats. Its working for him, and his album was about a third like his old shit and a third just ignant, so it was way solid and sold a shitload. Only problem is that a third of it was soft shit for the ladies. And I don’t really blame him, cause that makes the cash, and I can still fucks with some of his softer tracks, I’d just like to see that number go down. Which is why I’m so stoked he’s working with Meek Mill.

Dude is ignant as shit. This song goes dumber and harder than the actual Derrick Rose, so its like listening to an MVP (who’s about to win a championship too). I haven’t listened to that much of his music, but everything I’ve heard has beats that are ignant as shit and lyrics that are solid while going almost as hard as Flocka. He sounds like his regular tone of voice is yelling across a crowded room. Dude is incapable of whispering or getting soft in any way. He just can’t do it. So if he and Wale do try to make a song for the ladies, it’ll probably be either really funny, or really bad and cut before anyone hears it. With any luck they’ll sound like this:

Dumb beat, Meek Mill steppin his lyrics up a little but still sounding ignant as shit, and Wale trying to go hard as fuck. Its fucking awesome, I could listen to twenty songs just like this all day. Wale has a habit of putting out mixtapes way way better than his albums too, so this might be a classic release for fans of slightly ignant hip hop. Or maybe they’ll put a bunch of soft shit on it and it’ll suck. Either way, they should make a shitload of videos for it for no reason. Hoping at least one more is in a strip club.

Forced it, but them dancing should go with every song that I linked or posted.

Generally not feeling this style, but those strippers in that club video were exquisite.
The ignorance on display was overwhelming , but it looked fun as hell so whatever.

    But then at 1:45
    That stripper doing squats
    On top of another stripper
Who is holding a full plank
    While suspending herself mid-air
    On the pole.

    MODERN ART.

i was into wale a while back but he eventually lost my interest and i couldnt really figure out why. turns out he seems to be better suited as a less ignant counterpart to a rapper like meek mill. throw in some dumb as fuck beats and this shit is awesome.
