DJ DIAMOND KUTS = a new wave of neo-jerk???

A new wave of neo-jerk?

I’ve posted this track a couple of times in random places, but now I think the time is finally right to put it into a full post.  It’s brutally minimalistic and really irritating, right up my alley!  Other than the fact that Nicki Minaj makes the track nearly unlistenable, this beat goes harder than the average SYWH reader in the presence of an OTW Disney starlet.

In an effort to bring you, our valued SYWH reader-base, the most up-to-date, cutting-edge, life-changing music to over-analyze/bump in the whip, I did a little bit of investigative journalism in order to find out who made this bomb-ass beat that smacks so hard.

Not bad, huh?  The beat is super competent trap.  Nothing groundbreaking, but different enough to be interesting after an hour’s worth of Luger.  Rapping is competent as fuck for a female emcee in the year 2012.

As I continued to dig, I found that she released a mixtape last year in November containing the above track.  The whole thing is solid.  However, the tracks that are actually produced by Diamond Kuts are EXCELLENT.  They all have the same alien vibe that makes the “Stupid Hoe” beat so rugged.

To make another Luger comparison, this chick has a definite formula that makes her beats instantly recognizable.  It’s almost like she just changed the notes around in the original track.  Far from being a bad thing, this is an assurance of continued quality so long as this formula is ruthlessly maintained.  I can’t get enough of this shit!

I didn’t find anything else other than this tape, and only a handful of the tracks are actually produced by Diamond Kuts herself, so here’s hoping she stays productive and drops some hot new shit for us soon!

Cop her mixtape and check her out on

and tell her SYWH sent you!

This was fuckin’ funny, dude – seriously lulz @ ” this beat goes harder than the average SYWH reader in the presence of an OTW Disney starlet.”

You ever suffer a head injury?

    • Watt Par says:

Do teeth count as part of my head? I fell on a boulder once with my mouth open in such a way as to chip a bunch of my teeth. They were all baby teeth, though, so it’s all gravy now.

  4. Isaac says:

All of these songs are fucking sweet, though I can’t help but be really annoyed by Nicki Minaj’s insistence on being… well, really annoying.

  5. MasterSlave says:

I back the nihilism of obnoxiously simple beats but I don’t feel the same about the nihilism of lyrics that take 5 seconds to write sung/rapped by some dipshit who might as well be a random person that just walked into the studio from the street. Just my opinion, keep posting

Is the use of “jerk” as a subgenre of hiphop on this site srs, or just a joke because I am buttmad.

Just a few BPM more and you’ll have Gabber by Black People, Niceeee.
For the amis, this is Gabber: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpunr2d2SGk&t=1m15s Wait for the Crew Shout Breakdown :D OPEN THIS PIT UP!

    • Watt Par says:

That’s one of the things I was thinking as I was listening to it. It’s not a stretch of the imagination at all to imagine a hardcore/speedocre/gabber remix of these tracks. The fact that this is “poppy” or “mainstream” is completely absurd to me. Not that I’m complaining.

  8. Nahrhead says:

I like the slower bpm minimalist beats like Laffy Taffy but that Nicki Minaj track goes hard minus her voice

As long as it makes the bitches shake their ass at the clubs/parties/friend’s backyards, I’m down with it…
