Most people know acclaimed independent filmmaker JON ZOMBIE from his breakthrough video “I WANNA SEE YOU CRY BITCH,” which took the internet by a storm in 2011. But if you thought he was a one-trick pony, you thought wrong!! His latest work for HEART OF A WARRIOR is a testament to his broad range as a filmmaker, equally comfortable in a dizzying array of genres from deathcore to metalcore. Sounds too good to be true?? Judge for yourself:

- The name HEART OF A WARRIOR makes me think of a) supermarket romance novels with oil paintings on the cover and b) annoying white girls who say “I’m 1/16th Cherokee, that’s where I get my tenacity” (credit to Adam Carolla for that one)
- Totally baffled as to what the “plot” is supposed to be. Some guy is yelling, then the mexibro gets mad and leaves. A couple is making out and ignore a call from “Marcelo” (perhaps he is actually Brazilian, not Mexi?). Mexibro goes to the corner store and buys some water, then gets in a car with a couple 6.5/10s. Band is rocking out the whole time in the dusty front yard of a crappy 1-bedroom house in San Bernardino. The end.
- :28 Dat black tarp hung on the house behind them. Guess they can’t afford the standard issue “metalcore cloth banner with your band’s name on it in a sikk font” yet, so they just improvised Mexi-style?
- Drummer looks like he’s their 38 year-old, balding uncle who is super stoked to be in a band with his nephews, rocking out and giving zero fucks about his sweat flying off and getting all over everything
- 1:30 Say what you will about their music being generic, but pretty sure they are the only metalcore band whose video includes a part about being mad because you can’t use your debit card.
How do you think this stacks up next to “I WANNA SEE YOU CRY BITCH”?? Is the drummerbro the only white person in the video? What exactly is ‘the concept behind this video’ supposed to be???? Wood u smash the bish in the “I <3 MY BF” shirt???

RAD SONG!! I like the mixture of the style in thr music for sure, gives me the best of both worlds. The store scene wass the best hahahahaha. Really though, not bad at all. I think the story line was just about some bro havin a shitty day.
