WARHOUND lost money on tour; need ur donations to keep chasing their dreams

WARHOUND are not only one of the sweetest newish hardcore bands, but also the latest to hop on the digital panhandling bandwagon. Apparently they squandered all their money (most likely by literally making more t-shirt designs than songs), lost money on tour, and need ur help. And by help, I mean money. I always wonder how bands come to the conclusion to do the Kickstarter thing… I imagine the discussion being something like this:

Guy 1: “Not enough people are willing to give us money in exchange for our music or merch. Wat do?”

Guy 2: “Let’s see if they will give us money in exchange for nothing.”

Via B9:

brb chasing our dream of sounding like Biohazard and Excessive Force // underwater on my mosh mortgage

“(on the back)”

Although begging for money on Kickstarter is gay and embarrassing, I really appreciate the part where they sign the poster on the back because lettuce be cereal, the second some some jerk in a band writes his name on something it loses like 50% of its value. For example,  back in 2005 I won a PSP autographed by that mosh4christ band PROJECT 86, and the first thing I did was get some rubbing alcohol, a paper towel, and wipe their signatures off of it. And I still use it all the time, but mostly just for emulators.

$4,000!!! And they don’t even say where the money is going.

My one-man band wants to go on tour to the Bahamas. Please help me raise $3,000. For a $100 donation, I’ll think about you when I’m jerking off in my hotel.

Well writing this kinda music, and covering themselves in tats, i think this is a good idea which MORE bands should embrace. They`ll be used to panhandling when theyre living under a bridge via irresponsible fiscal choices aka working paycheck to paycheck to support a subpar hxc band..

  4. junjunweet says:

4 real doe, the new album goes so retarded hard that it has downs syndrome.

  5. dingdong says:

brb, starting a subpar, selfish project to justify a kickstarter account.

I was LOLing reading that B9 thread. I have no real problem with someone doing this, I just wouldn’t support it myself. I just think that it’s a joke that dudes who write “COLDER THAN EVER” on all 80 of their t-shirts will do this shit instead of just getting jobs.

How hard is it to scrape together 4 grand between 5 people?

  7. Nightshift says:

Is that a face tattoo? Hardstyle? If these bros are so tuff, why can’t they just rob some people?

  8. tweeed says:

I really like project 86 but why would they sign a PSP?

hard lol @ “reducing SKU count”

    • Sergeant D says:

Yah i feel like their entire graphic ts assortment is very hard to shop due to bloated sku count. They should pare it down the best performing styles and dump the rest of their inventory through a huge back to school clearance sale.

“we’re broke and want to tour, but we don’t want jobs. GIVE US $$$ PLZ”

Go to their facebook, and look at their most recent update. They explain everything in more detail.

Apparently they’re in debt with 2 different merch companies and the engineer for their last album. The $4000 is what they owe in total, and they’re trying to see if people want to help pay it off so they can get back on the road faster/get on some real tours. They claim to be searching for jobs and long term ways to pay it off, but that strategy would be long-term. I dunno if I’m personally gonna help out; I think I’ll buy merch from ‘em at the show they’re playing in Chicago next month.

  11. Maverick says:

What pisses me off about Kickstarter is that you’re basically making a loan to someone but getting a negative return. Instead of $25 for a 7″ and a poster, it should be $25 for a 7″ and poster soon, an LP whenever it comes out, and free entry to every future show. That’s called “investing” and it’s historically a force more powerful than “charity.”

  12. BURNT REYNOLDS says:

shouldnt these guys be out cuttin folk, robbing shit and ”servin’ the fiends”?? i thought this was hardstyle!!??,worst case scenario they get caught,do jail taime, become the cb4 of hardcore and blow the fuck up…and then they wont need a kickstarter!!

  13. Walker says:

I dont understand kickstarter- you just give people money for free? do you get any (real) return? why the hell do people do this?

    • Sergeant D says:

in theory you get something for your money, but i would be pretty surprised if a band who can’t manage to sell t-shirts at a profit manages to send out those 7″s in 6 months

  14. DarthZedd says:

I was just listening to these guys at the gym earlier. Fuckin cool band, but the ugly merch and bad decisions are their fault. Regardless of that, I feel that I should help w/ actually helping.
    WARHOUND 2012!

  15. Latinoheat!!! says:

meh…for the kixstart3rs I’d rather help out an awkward isolated teenager that plays in a prawg band because at least i know he can sweep like a janitor and he will get better at playing his guitar wankery… + we all know he won’t get his first taste of fat rocker chick panocha until he’s in “college” at MI or berkely college of music (or w/e the fuck its called) since he would be majoring in music engineering/producing aka moving the synth machine buttons up and down and using pro tools to make a scene kid w/ not much talent sound mediocre like BMTH n AA.

  16. Sandro says:

Oh no, my dreams!! If these cock strokers need money, perpetuate the stereotype and turn to crime. Pussies.

    Fucking embarrassing
