consider this post somewhat of a call to arms. R U tired of rise records signing the same terrible ikeacore bands and elitist pop punk? remember when they used to birth quality synthcore acts such as attack attack and abandon all ships? is the art of tr00 risecore now becoming a dying breed?
unbenounced to many, rise records used to be home to a band called that’s outrageous. in 2011, they dropped what should now be considered a timeless classic, their debut album “Teenage Scream”.
hit single from the album, peep the “OOOOHHHHH SHIT” @ 1:15, transitioning a breakdown into an even heavier breakdown. or the dubstep/rap part @ 1:55, which adds a fresh new element to the style that we havent heard before.
the band stirred up some controversy in the ikeacore/srscore community due to misogynistic lyrical content/t-shirt designs.
lol.
anyway… some drama happened (can’t have a solid risecore band without some band drama)… they lost some members… they gained some new ones… lost some old ones and new ones… gained back an old member (original singer Tom DeGrazia) and now they’re back in full force and just released a new song.

only problem is…. amongst all of these setbacks… they got DROPPED from their label. so, they did what any band would do… they launched a kickstarter campaign to fund the recording of their sophomore album! but this is a really cool kind of kickstarter… theres different prizes which vary depending on how much you donate.
the fifth perk includes lots of good prizes!

the highest perk, altho pricey, is the ultimate honor. u actually get to have ur voice embedded forever on what will soon to be a (ex-)risecore masterpiece.

im gonna let you call my bluff on this one. i never really paid attention to kickstarters before (this is the first one ive seen that i really cared about). i just wanted to make it seem as legit as possible. but yeah youre probably right.

Surely the pinnacle of ” Breakdown, slower detuned breakdown, autotune, trance, breakdown” songwriting. I read that article someone linked to and it’s truly lol how seriously they take themselves, talking about their “career” how difficult it is being a hardcore band and arguing over who gets credit for the songs (srs lol).
this band reminds me of a heavier/outcast version of the boy bands on Teen Nick. Diggin it ceriasly.

What happened to bands that work (i.e. sell drugs, turn tricks, rob old ladies, get a job, blow the engineer) to pay studio costs? And shouldn’t a band of this stature tone down the asking amount a little? I mean, they’re not that popular, are they?
they break down all the costs if you click the link for the kickstarter. it all adds up (recording an album is expensive business).
any money they make from a job would go towards basic living costs im assuming (rent, food, gas money etc).
i condone these types of kickstarters, i mean, its basically like the fans way of giving back for all of the free music we’ve been pirating and downloading for years and years now.
It’s pretty sleezy that you have to pay for international shipping if you make a donation.
