I found out about this ancient torture device called the bronze bull the other day. Basically they’d stick someone inside and light a fire underneath so the victim would be roasted to death/lose all their skin to red hot bronze etc.
The bull was also designed so that the victim’s screams would come out the bull’s mouth sounding like a cow’s moos (like an echo chamber or some shit), so everyone else would stand around laughing at this mooing cow thing.
That might not be the worst thing ever ever but it’s pretty bad.
Yeah the Greeks and Romans were pretty inventive with ways to torture and kill people but they had no tv or internet back then so they needed some form of entainment
