Loyal To The Grave = You’re Moshing!

There is something peculiarly sensual about this mic grab

Two years ago, Sarge wrote a post called Can Foreigners Play Thugcore??, which basically consisted of hilarious songs by bands who wanted to be American. Looking back on the bands in that post, some have deviated from thugcore and ruined their music to mosh ratio– *cough* TRC *cough*. Nevertheless, some turned out pretty sweet! Specifically, I’m talking about Japan’s Loyal to the Grave. In April they dropped Against the Odds, which features guest vocals from the likes of Vincent from The Acacia Strain and Carl from First Blood. If that alone doesn’t make you mosh then it’s over for you, son.

Here is the Cliffnotes edition for those who cannot be bothered to listen to 3 whole minutes:

  • Slamming breakdowns, crushing grooves from start to finish
  • Barely intelligible vocals. Song could very well be about Naruto
  • 1:56 dat snare
  • 2:39 What Seppuku sounds like as a breakdown

Why am I finding these so funny

Hit Loyal To The Grave up on Facebook, tell them Stuff You Will Hate sent you, and then congratulate them on trying to impersonate the United States.

No time for questions, only time for mosh.

I think it’s a combination between the singer’s serene facial expression and the fact that he seems to be cradling the dude’s head instead of grabbing it

Best dudes…I’ve been friends with them for years. So happy that they finally got a US release.

1.Naming your band after a song by a recent hardcore band.
    2. Naming your band after a REALLY FUCKING POPULAR band, bordering on mainstream alt!
    3. The breakdown chant sounds like “My nipple” ad infinitum. Not xtuffx enough.

  11. TLDR says:

This is some genuine siq mosh. Will Japan take our mosh and engineer it better/produce it more efficiently just like they have done with cars and electronics? Time will tell.

    What do YOU think, SYWH?
