HOLLYWOOD WASTE summer sampler ft BIG CHOCOLATE X DJ TWOSTACKS collabo

HOLLYWOOD WASTE is a label put together by our bros at CENTURY MEDIA to cash in on the scene/tumblrcore market, which I think is smart because I am pretty sure they have bled the IMN market dry. Also, it is funny to think about how buttmad some of the people over there must be about being forced to work with these bands.

They just dropped their 2012 SUMMER SAMPLER, which has a bunch of songs by artists that may be relevant to the interests of SYWH readers: MILLIONAIRES, CHELSEY GRIN, SUISIDE SILENCE, and most importantly a brand new collabo between BIG CHOCOLATE and DJ TWOSTACKS- don’t sleep on it!!

Kinda reminds me of back in the day before Spotify when u had to download stuff to your Zune– remember torrents haha?! lol good times My uncle is always like ‘how can u listen to Spotify it sounds so cold and artificial u should only listen to iTunes it’s much more warm and live-sounding’

Megalolz at Just Like Vinyl being on this comp, trying to bait Fall of Troy fanboys drooling over the guitar chops.

winds of plague – “RELOADED” ? LOL century media just acknowledged everything after decimate the weak is trash.

‘when wiggers go scene’ … still ten years late.

    • Notderek says:

California and forged in fire are the only listenable tracks after decimate the weak. IMO.
That being said I still rock my wop hoodie and love the shit out of decimate the weak.

This whole sampler is pretty great though. Really digging the Big C./ DJ two stacks collab.

Against the World is so much better than Decimate the Weak IMO. I hate the metalcore bits that are littered throughout WoP’s first album.

The air at Century Media must be heavy with the thick fug of ButtPathos.
    Excellent.

double post + having flashbacks to posting relentlessly on phpBB forums and having to apologize for double posting

That list reminds me of the soundtracks to shitty horror movies from 1998-2002 that had like 1-3 bands you have heard of on them (usually slipknot, incubus and POD) and then 12 other 3rd rate nu-metal bands that no one gave a shit about. Brb fondly reminiscing about Little Nicky with no intent to go and rewatch it knowing full well that doing so would ruin my nostalgia.

Wow. This is, in one fell swoop, everything that sucks ass about heavy music today.

Cheap uniforms for the kiddiez? Check.

      Fake sense of displacement? Check.

      Shit, vague lyrics? Check.

      Shit, teenagey name? Check.

      Shit, sub-nu-metal riffs? Check.

One guy masquerading as a band? Check.

What’s a fuckstar? What makes one so important that a generation gets behind it?

This is so bad it’s gone all the way around and the only conclusion left is this is a manufactured boyband job.

The last paragraph made me lol. BRB dusting off my old collection of vintage “mp3s.”

except that none of these bands are on spotify sadly… still contemplating whether or not I want to go through the trouble of downloading this, adding the folder to itunes and then restarting spotify so it will recognize the new music on my computer :-/

    • Sergeant D says:

akshually you can just click on “refresh” in the local files list- and if you tell it to look in your ‘downloads’ folder you dont even have to move the files… but yeah, not on spotify = no care for me too.
