There are few things I like better than when other people legitimize my idiotic jokes. Usually it’s by accident (like the kid who said ‘ENTOMBEDCORE’) and the poor assholes are the unwitting but of our dumb running jokes. That’s cool and all but what I really love is when someone does it on purpose (like when AP used ‘srscore’ in their TGI review), and goes out of their way to to make something that shows a little love for one of my jokes- especially if what they make is really half-assed and crappy and you can tell they didn’t really put in any effort into it (via the ‘worse is better’ principle).

Just saw Defeater on Friday with Hundredth, both played really well and I can see the appeal that they have to srs young adults. I was turned off by the fact that I perceived them as taking themselves very seriously, mostly due to their 45 minute sets (in stark contrast to Rotting Out’s appropriate 25 minutes of super fun, energetic hardcore punk).
Also Defeater’s 10 minute long acoustic song was very confusing (this actually happened)
I’m down witcha for rotting out’s kickass set…
but as for the rest…. ouch…. yikes… um… im gonna go drink sum 8 dollar beers at the side bar so i can pretend to lyke defeater and try to mingle w/ the srscore fangirls (which of course are prolly gueras ;-D)

Defeater and Hundredth may not be my favorites, but I really know very little about either of them outside of the butthurt expressed in this websites comments and the fact that All Teeth toured with the former like 5 times.

my god this whole comment thread. One of the reasons I love this place is because the comments are 1000% better than on reddit…. I stopped going there actually. It’s like the srscore band of internet. That’s not a hard decision for me.
