It is not easy for me to say this but I think I may have a new favorite #slam band. Don’t get me wrong, I still think that previous favorites CEPHALOTRIPSY slam a considerable amount of sickness, but imo FEMALE NOSE BREAKER are the new kings of the genre.
The main thing that sets FNB apart to me is the god-tier drumming. For one, these actually sound like real drums not over-processed click tracks ala every crappy riff salad band ever. Second, he is one of the rare slam guys (like the dude from CEPHALO) who actually plays his drums like an instrument– his playing kind of reminds me of an even more chaotic of the drumming on the first ORIGIN album (which is also god-tier). I think he is in NECROPHAGIST now lol. Also, in case it’s not obvious I tried my very hardest to copy his style in all the ENPEDESTALMENT songs, especially how much he plays his ride bell in fills.
Some of the chunkiest slam riffs of all time, you’re moshing! Also dat cover art… Conversation with artist: “Um, we were thinking it could be a picture of a a tarrasque from Dungeons & Dragons ground-and-pounding an attractive young girl. Oh and make it look like a 9th grader with ADD and anger management issues drew it on the back of his remedial English textbook.”
And of course there is this S-rank live video from Mountains Of Death, the same festival that brought us the EPICARDIECTOMY macarena video. Oh Europe u so zany!
