NEW JAMZ: Kids Can’t Fly

Hmmmmm vry srs

Do you wonna hear what it sounds like when someone does a sik mashup of Fall Out Boy and Less Than Jake? Have you ever wondered what watered down easycore with ska sounds like in terms of its unfathomable levels of fun? Let me start by introducing Kids Can’t Fly!

I first heard this stuff from a mate, and listened to this track I think 1000 times before I even considered moving on. It’s just catchy as shit, good vocals, good use of brass in my opinion. APPROVED

This is IMO both their best single and their best song. A strong FOB vibe with a bit of FYS in there. And that random quick breakdown w/ gang vocal moment kind of works. There is something awesome about a song that to me has similar content to ‘The Bitch Song’ by Bowling for Soup.

Their latest single, not too shabby if you ask me, and the crowds look pretty damn happy. The song is all about literally beeng urslf and not deviate for any reason. (via militant chill bros)

Hello and welcome to 2007, FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

I feel like after sharing such a gem you too can see the love I hold for these guys. I have a feeling both them and Me Vs Hero could be the British representatives in easycore. The problem fans face is that they’ve existed for 6 years and yet they have no album out yet. I mean, How can a band like this stay unsigned for so long? Are they destined to have good jams, Decent eps but no explored potential? Drop the guys a leik on their Fac-e-book and tell them SYWH knows ur out there. Tell me wat you thank in the down.

You should check out a band called Save the Swim Team, they do something similar in that it’s like pop-punkish parts with all these ska things too, and breakdowns just for good measure

  2. Anonymous says:

sounds a lot like We Are the Union with weird accents.

  3. cmoney says:

This is pretty sweet. Maybe you just avoided linking embarrassing skankin’ pickle reggaeton jams, but if they’re really just an easycore band + horns, this is pretty awesome. They avoid all the embarrassing “this is the part where we go clean channel on our guitars and play really fast skank riffs” with horns blaring. The horns just fill in some nice melodies over easy crunch guitars.

It’s remarkable the horn players avoided ruining the breakdown in the first song. How long do you think that negotiation went in band practice? “But you guys aren’t singing!! We really want to play!!” “No it’s a breakdown, shut up.”

  8. refusetodie says:

This reminds me of Four Year Strong but with horns instead of a synth. High school me is fucking stoked.

Np. Check out the eps where they actually do skapunk/easycore style. Basically all the stuff that’s on their spotify page + Strength in Numbers which is on Grooveshark and bandcamp. If you wonna hear their 2nd ep, a more straight up 00s ska punk album go on GS too. Also ANOTHER gem to check out is Heartstrong off their single.

do not tary britishmen! deliver them unti jams!

    • lol im so zany :3 says:

Streetlight Manifesto are way too tr00 lyrically and it’s kinda embarrassing but damn if they don’t make some of the best use of brass in that genre. The drums are p sweet too.

  15. alanso says:

These guys are sweet but you’ve pretty much nailed the UK/Ireland problem for bands like this, usually end up putting out a few great EPs, never get signed, get burned out.. :(

  16. lehain says:

Heard the horns on “she called shotgun” and was like there is no way and then listened to it 15 times

  17. SexHaver1987 says:

Nthing how awesome “She Called Shotgun” is. Almost literally the only song I’ve listened to since I checked it out a couple of days ago.
