New MOTIONLESS IN WHITE goes hard as fuck, brahs

The attack on the low chugs = boner achieved, sickest guitar sound ever

I am not sure how MOTIONLESS IN WHITE manages to keep flying the mallgoth flag in 2012, but I am glad that they do. I have always had a little bit of a soft spot for bands who hit that sweet spot where they are some combination of gothic, scene, metalcore and/or hard rock, but sadly those bands seem to come along less and less frequently every year.

My second-favorite track on the record, ft Brandan from BLEEDING THROUGH

I really wanted to love the older MIW records, but they just didn’t quite click with me. Like, they were good but not great. I felt like there was potential for 18V-levels of greatness that just needed to be unlocked, like in a teen movie where the shy, nerdy girl takes off her glasses, lets down her hair and instantly becomes super hot. Apparently the magic ingredient for MIW was working with our friends at AUDIOHAMMER STUDIOS, because this new album is head and shoulders above any of their old shit. Also, one of the sickest guitar sounds I have ever heard in my life.

Verses sound like Bury Your Dead + some background synths. This is not a negative comment.

  2. My Uncle Bought a Used Fleshlight on Craigslist says:

This would get those Tim Burton loving kids moshing hard as fuck. I’ll back it.

  3. Rob says:

Old MIW was fun as fuq.

New stuff is taking it’self was too cereal.

  4. angelofdef says:

    crabdjent….

  5. Dr Tizzle says:

I hear some Disturbed influences @ 2:45. Is Disturbed old enough to be incorporated in scene-music under the “retro” flag?

  6. steezmessiah says:

I thought the synths sounded familiar, then i looked it up and found out TIM SKOLD also produced the album. Made sense since A-M-E-R-I-C-A sounded like what Manson should sound like in 2012(read not shitty as balls).

  7. Anonymous says:

that 2nd MIL vid is leik Cradle of Filth + scene metalcore, so it probably makes tr00 metalheads rage so hard that their heads end up asploding

  8. Dylan says:

I really liked old MIW. They were one of the first bands I saw live, back in 08 with Alesana. They’re all really chill bros and some of the most genuinely nice people I’ve ever met. However, I’m not really digging this album :/ too much Slipknot/Marilyn Manson influence imo.

CAUSE THAT’S WHAT YOU DESERVE YOU DISGUSTING PEICE OF SHIT lol

  11. junjunweet says:

also the song where he does an “eeeeYUH” and then a “bleh” that shits wild.

  12. InsecureGorilla says:

sadly it seems the general consensus about this album is that it sucks

which is odd because everyone’s jocking slipknot now and parts on this album sound exactly like them

    • steezmessiah says:

oh shit well would you look at that, the general consensus fucked up. MIW’s new album slaps harder than my sloppy dick against someone else’s girlfriend’s dripping twat-hole.

    • Sergeant D says:

i think it’s just another case of people being giant faggots and arbitrarily deciding to not like a band they otherwise would love for something gay like how they look or whatever (see also Winds Of Plague, who they would love if the guys in the band looked like skinnyfat losers with long greasy hair)

      • steezmessiah says:

That, I don’t see why nerds don’t jock The Great Stone War more. It’s pretty fucking sick and has everything guitarnerds would love about that djent-y borefest that was Born of Osiris’ new turd.

        • IgnorantMosh says:

TGSW is the only WoP album I didn’t really like, and a classic example of IMN’s ignoring something they would jizz over if it wasn’t made by 250 pound dudes in puffy jackets and snapbacks.

          • Latinoheat!!! says:

its not the way they look being the reason why me no likey WOP its…. um…. yea.. ur right… I hated dat “DRUG FREE FOR SATAN” backpatch back in 06-07 when i saw em at one of the first cali metalfests and i wood still get raegahol if i saw dat shit today!!

got i hate dat sxe merch!!! somebody do a post on bad bitches or re-nu-metuhl to make me stay posi stat!!!

  13. Void Eater says:

The Slipknot parts on this are really good, hope they ditch the metalcore choruses and go full on nu nu-metal.

  14. adam ryan says:

D i could not agree more with this post. ive alway wanted to like this band and now i FINALLY have a legitimate reason to. rekard goez hard. backt.

  15. vworld says:

dont why you’re praising that guitar tone so much

super generic ts9/5150 shit right there and its even a bit low in the mix

  16. uppercut613 says:

second song sounds like dimmu borgircore

    • Latinoheat!!! says:

yup… it sure does… they better release an album sounding similiar to stormblast or else im gonna be pissed!!!

  17. AndySixxBitches says:

Is slipmansoncore the next big thing?

  18. Zoloft says:

meh, not rlly into black metal

  19. policerespond says:

idk, it’s just the manson stuff i heard that i didn’t like so much. rlly wish the entire album sounded like Black Damask and If It’s Dead.

  20. Jonnyfilth says:

Devil’s Night is sweet. Didn’t think I’d like it based on the “mallgoth” description but luckily I didn’t judge a book by its cover amirite???
I like the Terry Your Dead feel and the chorus is catchy. Would pirate/10

  21. yup says:

Excited for this band because i want to mosh to slipknotcore riffs but am legit terrified of a crowd of maggots(see: Duality Official Music Video)

also Abigail on their last album went hard as fuqq

  22. skakle333 says:

I skipped all the comments…sounded like really shit slipknot to me.

  23. godhatesfigs says:

Ayyy Sarge, you ever heard of a band called I Am Ghost? They’re sorta a more “early 00′s” version of this band, which makes sense because they were from around that time, and based on the way you’re digging MIW, I couldn’t help but mention them. Used to jock their first EP and debut album really hard in 7th/8th grade, pretty “pre-twilight post-hardmetalcore” type shit, worth checking out/10.
