Woe, Is Me VS. Issues: Who won the BEEF??

This is one of them, the other one looks about the exact same, give or take one guy.

So Risecore teenheartthrobs WOE IS ME lost like half their members, then got new members then their old members got new members and started similar Risecore type band ISSUES (about the serious issues teens deal with everyday lol). Now because the guys at Rise are pretty genius promoters, they released angsty dis tracks the bands made against each other on the same day, probably to gauge reactions and see which band they should buy a nicer van for in the future. Now that the dust has settle (AKA its been like two weeks) let’s see who came out on top! Its important to note that both songs are pretty much the same, and could be on the same album and no one would really notice, so the victor has to be measure through views and likes/dislikes.

ISSUES:

New kids with a song off their “EP”, ha. Let’s look at the MATH:

416,751 Views as of writing this

7,133 likes, 448 dislikes, that’s a 95% upvote, not bad.

Funniest comment:

“I don’t give a fuck about what the lyrics means, i’m just here because this music make feel good, music don’t need to mean anything, for me, just a thing i use to relax, feel better and sometimes express feelings”- Washington Cruz

Runner-up:

“dude in all seriousness though woe is me is dead fuck genisis Issues is where its at it would be an insult to say woe is me is even close to being as good as issues great ass fucking shit guys you got my full support and respect”- tim goodling

REIGNING CHAMPS WOE IS ME:

Noticeably more subtle diss track off their album. They’re playing the ‘we don’t really care about you guys, this song could be about anyone’ card, respek, let’s see if it paid off #MATH:

315,412 Views as of writing this

4,822 likes, 1,947 dislikes , that’s a 71% upvote, pretty embarrassing.

Funniest comments:

“idk why everyone is crying about the ‘dick in your throat’ line. it doesn’t mean Tyler Carter is gay. it means i left real music and tried to go mainstream and be fake and made gay fake pop songs.” -Marc Collier

Runner-Up:

“I feel like he is starting to sound similar to Chester from Linkin Park, which definitely isn’t a bad thing” -sheld1

So, scientifically speaking, Woe, Is Me has fallen off hard and is no longer a scene band to jock. They got less views, more dislikes, and much more embarrassing funny comments on their video (tho I only stayed on the first page of comments and there are probably thousands of gems in there). Only logical thing to do is to rep Issues as the new scenecore leaders, and when these bands tour together soon they might even be headlining. Sorry Bros is Me, that’s just science talking.

i dont know if the whole “both songs are interchangeable” part was just unbiased journalism but im with the general consensus that the issues song is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. ive been bumping it ever since it came out, makes me stoked for their EP. and the lyrics, to me, are epic.

the new woe, is me song is disappointing as fuck, it doesnt flow well at all and its just boring.

i wish there were more band beefs :(

  2. Void Eater says:

The keyboardist who got kicked out of The Devil Wears Prada needs to form a new band and write a beef song about his former bandmates becoming hipster scum.

    • thetotalbro says:

      I support this concept.

    • Lionel Richie says:

This should be a thing, pls let this be a thing, I hope he does this instead of doing a solo nu-dubstep/trap music career. If he does go down the trap/dub path I expect some filthy drops where someone shouts “They don’t even Joy Divison!” [insert wubs, bwamps, chckychkys and "Damn son, where'd you find this?" here].

  3. Kvlt times Kvlt measvres says:

Dear god tdwp is still a band?

  4. IgnorantMosh says:

I’m really torn on this one. The chrorus in the Issues song is legit one of the gheiest things I’ve ever heard in the best possible way it gets stuck in my head on a regular basic. That is some ETF/PTV scene-god-tier level shit right there.

On the other hand the djenty bits like the intro in the Woe is Me song is miles ahead of any of the heavy parts in the Issues song, and the lyrics in the intro verse to the Issues song aren’t even ironically shitty. I felt vicariously embarrassed for whatever dick wrote the ‘you’ve got the swag of a coward and the heart of a nemesis, if u dun liek dese lyrics go listen 2 gensis, SEGA we ain’t playin games’ bit.

  5. uppercut613 says:

also, everytime i hear the new woe, is me song and hear doriano doing screams, i shed a tear reminiscing about the old that’s outrageous lineup :(

  6. policerespond says:

As one of the people hoping Issues was going to stylistically continue from where Number[s] left off, I’m not like super impressed with what I’ve heard so far.

    • Matt Galbraith says:

Why would they continue where they left off with Number[s]? It’s a different band entirely. Even with some of the same members. They left to do their own things and they didn’t want to hide that anymore so they wanted a new sound. You can’t expect Number[s] all over again when they even stated that they didn’t want to be that kind of band anymore.

  7. Ink Deep says:

Pree sure it’s already been called, but STATE OF THE SCENE ADDRESS 2012/2013:
› “GET UP” / “BOUNCE” sections
    › Scratching and hip-hop sections
    › Slipknot ripoff riffs

Queue your local band FROM WITHIN THE KING changing their style to nu-core after the whole Of Mice & Men / Crown The Empire sound didn’t work out for them.

  8. Taytex says:

    guis…

in the end, AREN’T WE ALL WINNERS???

  9. SexHaver1987 says:

Hahaha, genuine lol at the “it must be hard to talk shit with a dick in your throat” from Woe, Is Me. Scene beef <3

    • IgnorantMosh says:

Yeah dude it was a way better cheesy dis line then anything in the Issues song, and dat ‘bleh!!!’ after it <3 so good

  10. shivbeatus says:

New Woe song is too heavy for me to not like it, and the chorus makes me feel good

Issues song felt like it was missing the things that made me like those dudes when they were IN Woe Is Me, but I’m sure the rest of the album (read: srs songs about how they feel inside) will win me over. Honestly I’m not picking sides, it’s just more great trancecore for me.

  11. GroundDweller says:

Copypasta from forums (bc fuk thinking of new points for what is essentially an irrevlevant marketing ploy by the geniuses at Rise):
#teamISSUES. Reasons: Better song, Austin from WIM is apparently a bit of a weenie, I find it a bit strange that new members who don’t know Michael and Tyler are talking/singing/screaming shit about them. I love some scene drama though (I guess Rise and their accountant’s do as well) so Imma get some popcorn and enjoy this.

  12. refusetodie says:

Thank you for awaring me to this pressing matter. You have the ability.

  13. Garrrrr says:

That’s Outrageous > Issues > Woe, Is Me

you forgot 1. and that’s outrageous is wayyy better then both.

(and thats where woe is me’s new screamer came from)

MAINLY cuz that’s outrageous isnt trying to be srs-djent-core like everyone else.

    • uppercut613 says:

      this.

what did you think of thats outrageous new album? i think its pretty sick, but its no “teenage scream”, thats for sure

also, the guitarist on the far left in woe, is me comes from abandon all ships, another sweet band thats probably better than both

      • Garrrrr says:

i liked it a lot more than i thought i would.

like dat siq pop song about stealin dudez gurlz.

there are plenty of bands like this that are better than new woe is me and issues lol.

        abandon all ships
        madison affair
        for all those sleeping
        capture the crown
        asking alexandria
        crown the empire
        (old) Attack attack!
        Forever the light
        Gamma Pulse
        I see stars
        Make Me famous
        This Romantic Tragedy

        • Furry Fox says:

LOL @ Asking Alexandria and Old Attack Attack, they both suck so bad, especially Attack Attack. Austin Carlile sucked with them, they got better after he left, and Of Mice & Men is way better than Attack Attack could ever be. Asking Alexandria is just crappy poser garbage.

  14. My Uncle Bought a Used Fleshlight on Craigslist says:

can’t wait for the squash the beef tour/god told me to take a higher path so I’m being the bigger person and ending the feud.

  15. Limbface says:

IF YOU’RE SCARED BITCH GO TO CHURCH

    legit lol

imo woe is me song is 10x better, heavier, less ghey sounding clean singer, etc. Also, using “no fucks to give” in a -core song is genius.

    • Latinoheat!!! says:

      yup same here…

woe had me @ “IT MUST BE HARD TALKING SHIT WITH A DICK IN YOUR THROAT!!”

      lol

but both of these bands arent 1 in a million… they are both just like the rest… but that’s just risecore whitchu…

  16. honestabebread says:

WIM smashes Issues. Screams are a million times better and tougher sounding, riffs go hard as fuck, clean vocals arent massively gay and DAT BLEGH. IMO the BLEGH wins the beef

  17. AndySixxBitches says:

Do ppl get shot in metalcore beefs?

  18. Bulb says:

I feel like there aren’t enough beefs in the scene.(half srs). Can anyone let me know about any more beefs that have gone on besides Emmure and TAS?

    • Latinoheat!!! says:

Why can’t metal/the scene have more beef like dis… besides the ocassional grampa-rockfag saying something retarded (mustaine/nugent in politics) bullshit there has got to be more BEEF up in hyah…. the east coast/west coast rap beef one day needs to be transplanted into the east coast/west coast metal or scene beef!!!

      WOP vs Emmure vs TAS
Fight Fair vs The Wonder Years
      Defiler vs east coast equivalent
Xibalba vs east coast non-union NYR equivalent
      Nails vs Fuck The Facts
Rotting Out vs grose boston beatdown equivalent

      etc. etc….

if only the golden god revolver award show attendees came with entourages and threw up gang signs!!! dat one producer sturgis (or w/e da fuck his name is) would be suge knight while eval leyyi (dat daath fucker) wood be puffy appearing in every fucking video n shit….

    • thechubbymonkey says:

Yeah, Plot In You vs Of Mice & Men (Mainly Landon Tewers vs. Austin Carlile) Only the newest one I can think of. Apparently Tewers has some beef with mr. Carlile that he expressed on Twitter and through PIY song “Digging Your Grave”

  19. Lionel Richie says:

The Issues track has catchier and more prominent synth and that’s all I remember it for, I’m more likely to want to listen to the WIM song for a good helicopter dick sesh cos of the more upbeat rhythm to swing around to.

That and the fact issues sounds like a Kingdom of Giants cover band.

  20. surewhynot says:

Issues wins due to me being a sucker for overly obnoxious, R&B style vocal runs. Tyler Carter’s voice = the key to unlocking my inner gheyness (no homo)

  21. ge5undhe17 says:

The band should’ve become a boyband because of those fruity vocals. And now they have performed mitosis and fighting each other

  22. uppercut613 says:

new woe, is me song kinda redeems them imo

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0sDINQNxII

way better than ‘ive told you once’

  23. yeah... says:

Jonny Craig should start up his own band (not join another like he did with Emarosa) and start beef with Dance Gavin Dance. Not that I don’t like either of them, I actually love Dance Gavin Dance and Jonny, but they need to be some what big again!

  24. Cultured Music Enthusiast says:

I tried listening to issues and my ears started bleeding. So I went to the doctors, who prescribed new WIM. I guess that means Genesi[s] wins hands down.
Personally, I think they now have a more profound sound since they got rid of their female cleans vocalist. That said, no offence to females in the metalcore scene.

  25. Wes says:

Both great bands woe is me got the better tho

  26. Lovin the feud says:

I have to say Issues won this because you just can’t get by without the vocals of Tyler Carter and the music is amazing but when it comes to having the harshest lyrics I think Woe is me has that covered I was like damn they are sure trying to get there point across
