WE ARE DANGER (via risecore bands that never got signed to rise records)

it seems like it’s a common trend for most of my favorite bands to only have like a few demo songs + maybe an EP before disppearing from the scene forever. this might be due 2 the fact that a full length album is too long for my poor attention span to follow, not to mention, this way the band has as little time as possible to “mature as artists” and start taking their music in a crappy direction.

we are danger is the epitome of this, with their complete discography consisting of one 3-song EP, 2 stand-alone singles, and a drake cover. in a scene overflooded with crappy local bands who pay tyler carter to do guest vocals on their latest single in attempts to get noticed, these guys were definitely a breath of fresh air.

the band’s first song off their early demo/EP treads in the “we’re not sheriff we want to be an easycore band or a crabcore band” territory, which is never a bad thing. i also love the autotuned vocals at 1:22,  probably the most blatant/non-subtle use of autotune i’ve heard since the first attack attack album, very strong ‘no fux given’ vibes.

as you can see, the band seems to have had the image down right with the ripped black jeans and hair slightly longer than the girls in courage my love. i love the contrast between super heavy and poppy as it goes into the gay clean singing part.

obviously it wouldnt be a tr00 risecore band without a top 40 cover.

i have been informed that this is an early incarnation of the band, which sounds like a much poppier version of what they started to do later. to me, this basically sounds like the musical version of photobombing… i just picture a young hopeful risecore vocalist showing up to an easycore band’s practice and screaming periodically throughout the song

that awkward moment when a crabcore song is heavier than 95% of “real” metal and hardcore bands.  sadly this is the last song that they ever put out, and they seemed to have disappeared since then, with no signs of activity on their facebook page since last spring.

whatever happened to WE ARE DANGER? did they finally decide to mature and start a srscore band? have they been replaced already by thousands of other interchangeable bands?

inb4 “the gay clean vocals ruin it”

      • C.N. says:

R U KIDDING? Gay clean vocals are a staple of sick crabcore!

        • uppercut613 says:

i totally agree, but they seem to be a big complaint for alot of people when it comes to bands like this, especially for heavier songs. they think the gay singing compromises the heaviness.

gay clean vocals are the reason i like this stuff more than regular metalcore/whatever usually

            • uppercut613 says:

glad to see an appreciation for gay clean crabcore vocals

check out hands like houses, they basically sound like old woe, is me but with no screaming

              • policerespond says:

I’ve seen hands like houses twice this year and hung out with trenton the singer both times (namedrop). that kind of progressive post-hardcore is one of my favorite kinds of music overall, almost as much so as mid-00′s screamo and selfloathingcore

  2. Policerespond says:

hah, no disrespect uppercut613, but to suggest such an entry level C-rank tumblr/crab core band to me as if I have not heard them before is just insulting. do your homework b4 u go toes to foes with me. later skater.

where da fuq i download dis?

  4. Bronson says:

Really feeling I Sea Monsters (although lol @ that name). Basically sounds like easycore with nothing but harsh vocals and slightly trancier keyboards.

  5. Void Eater says:

Those early easycrabcore songs are really good.

  6. anonymous says:

started out as a christcore easycore band > kicked out all members of band except 2 > started partying > became douches > weren’t allowed to show up at local shows at a bowlling alley in their “tour bus” > faded into obscurity

  7. anonymous says:

    roller rink* not bowling alley

  8. JimmyPiersall says:

Holy fuck, dat last single is sick as fuck. moshing hard.

  9. Seaviolence says:

The one drummer is now the drummer of capture the crown and I think another member is in that band now to. Soooo I Sea Monsters evolved into We Are Danger who evolved in Capture the Crown?

    • uppercut613 says:

interesting. i knew the drummer of capture the crown was american but i didnt know he played in this band. the rest of the capture the crown dudes are australian though, a few of them were in a band called “atlanta takes state”.

anyway, im glad that atleast one member of this band is still playing crabcore, i loved capture the crown’s album

Is it just me who finds it funny/odd when drummer-vocalists mime their singing parts, as opposed to ‘singing’ into a mic? I don’t know why it’s any different to a straight up vocalist openly miming, idk, he just looks like the guy in the cover band who is rly into it.

  11. Spencer says:

The screamer for We Are Danger was Nick Mames. He became the 3rd screaming vocalist for From Atlantis, a metalcore band from Providence, RI. He can be heard on their full length album, Pedestals. He then left the band for some reason and they replaced him.

    That’s about all I know :/

    • Jerfre says:

Mames quit WAD to move to Jersey and join From Atlantis, which he is still a part of.
Tyler Brown took over vocal duties for the rest of the tour. Matt Allan quit to join The Paramedic. One of the guitarists from Kingdom of Giants stepped in to finish the tour. Tyler March (who owns the We Are Danger name) quit the band to join CTC, which he is on tour with currently, to support their “‘Til Death” EP. We Are Danger then existed in another incarnation, with Ryan Seritti taking over drumming duties, Tyler Brown on vocals, Matt Allan sucking at life (and lead guitar), and Justin Witcofsky on bass. Justin moved to Florida to attend Full Sail University. As far as I know, the band is on hold at the moment.
