Just when I thought CEREBRAL INCUBATION were the only band keeping #slam alive, a new challenger appears: SICK. I don’t mean “it’s sick that there is an awesome new slam band,” I mean that’s the name of the band. They are actually called SICK. The name of the band is SICK. And they self-identify as a “Molesting The Decapitated” clone band. If that isn’t enough for you to slam that sickness, here are some other signs you know it’s awesome:
- So ignorant that not only do they have an impossible-to-google name, they also have an unreadable logo. And as far as I can tell they don’t have a Facebook. Strong SEO.
- The singer’s hoodie tucked into his black jeans.
- The little blurbs at the bottom, especially their arbitrary capitalization– “the HeavyWeight style of Devourment’s cult-album ‘Molesting The Decapitated’” and “Be prepared for a memorable Crushing Release”
- Did I mention the name of the band is SICK?

Yeah, they seem to have used up most of their mana for the title, and I think it was a wise decision. I can visualize the ‘brainstorming for a title’ scene so vividly I can almost touch it:

I don’t know what you’re talking about with that logo, that’s probably the only one of its kind that you can actually wrap your brain around.
hopefully these dudes put out a full album soon… the world needs a new hero since devourment decided to be a 90′s death metal tribute band.
Some of the songs are a little more death metal-ish but I’ve heard some other songs from the album that are straight slam. It looks to be a mix of the two, which I look forward to!

These guys are from South Central LA. Back in ’08 through about ’10 there were a lot of sick bands playing backyard shows overthere. A lot of good bands would be at one show, it was crazy.
My friends are in this band called Viral, and they’re basically in the same boat re: SEO. I ‘like’ them on FB yet to find their page I have to copy + paste the URL :(

mid 20s oldfag reporting in : yup… sick ass band… i member seeing these fuckers back in the mid to late 00s at a shitload of gigs in south central, east los, wilmington, etc… (back when myspace ruled the air and there used to be parties and gigs in every crackhouse/warehouse/squatting house/ random ghetto ass place in el-lay every fucking weekend and kids actually went outside to get fucked up, party, play gigs and have fun)… i still got one of their old ass demos somewhere in my fat ass family album style cd booklet thingy in my car… will bump and will say to everyone here in the spirit of tro0o0ness that ” I liked the demo better”…
I thought they were just another grind/slam band bound to be obscure and die off but apparently not… my teenage self is happily pumping the air tiger woods style that this band is apparently making it (somewhat eastern euro style =P) but yea… kudos to these mexi-bros…
