With more and more copycat, me-too bands coming out every day, it’s harder than ever for bands to stand out. IMO rather than try to do something different within an existing genre, the best option is for bands to invent a whole new sub-subgenre of their own so that by default they stand out. Even if other bands start copying them, they can always be like “whatever, we started this shit all these new jacks ain’t got shit on our steez.”
For example STATE CHAMPS, who occupy that little sliver of artistic territory in between TR00 POP PUNK (ala THE STORY SO FAR), EASYCORE (ala CITY LIGHTS) and AMERICANEAGLECORE (ala I CALL FIVES)– let’s call it CREWNECKCORE.
Probably their best song– don’t call it AMERICANEAGLECORE, they’re 2 effed up and angsty for dat

fur real! the only reason i wasn’t planning to go was because i’ve accidently seen CNCC too many times, although i really wish all bands on this tour would just replace the support on the TSSF tour.
Is CNCC canceling all of their dates on this tour? I didn’t hear that until now, but it makes sense due to the ADTR tour. I’ll prob go to the Anaheim date anyway just because of City Lights and State Champs.
I wonder if there are enough San Diego area SYWH’ers to get show meetups going? Most of my IRL friends don’t really listen to the same weird music as me although they humor me and come usually. I’ll prob check the forum.

lol, the tr00 look here in the armpit of so-cal (inland-empire) is mostly a bunch of douche bag skaters and swag kids who put on the obey crew necks, and have the kachi color pants. All they talk about is how deep Tyler the creator is and stuff. :/
