If you are like me, you wrote off all Swedish music as either weak, ghey melodeath or weak, ghey indiepop. And you would have been right to do so, at least until now. Meet Gothenberg, Sweden’s ABANDONED BY BEARS, who as far as I’m concerned are the template for what new pop-punk/easycore bands should sound like. Along with bands like LAKEVIEW, they are the leaders of the new school of pop-punk that serves as the counterpoint to the troowave/vhscore trend sweeping through the scene– and I for one welcome our new POPPY CRABCORE overlords with open arms!
No idea what these guys are up to as far as future releases, touring or whatever but I am definitely stoked to hear more. Stay tuned!

basically the same old easycore but with heavier breakdowns, more “hardcore” vox, lots of catchy keyboard/synth, and most importantly.. DAT CRABCORE PRODUCTION

It’s ADTR with minimal Nintendo-core thrown in (dat Super Mario coin @ 1:14) which isn’t a bad thing. I just think easycore needs to add another dimension if it wants to survive (more breakdowns?! more slamming riffs?! who knows!?).

If this is the future of easycore then I’m on board. This is like what I expected Lakeview to sound like before i listened to them (though lakeview are this shit too and got signed!). This band is tight as shit tho I’m already excited to hear more from them.
