I've been kinda poor, so not lately. But when I'm training hard? Hell yes.

Sounds pretty good, the egg whites in a paper box dealio. I cant actually look at eggwhites or I wanna throwup, this seems like a good alternative!

So fades the great harvest of my dessert. Nestle left little to chance, didn't they? Turning my own frosting, my own bakery against me. But what hubris to believe they could protect their cookies from me forever. If you have not mastered even these ingredients, then man has not attained the kitchen. Your decadance, may yet be prevented. Cake was your ally, human. But now it has abandoned you. The Pastrychefs have returned. This oven, is now yours.

So a few weeks ago I began seriously lifting for the first time (I'm pretty damn skinnyfat atm). It's going pretty well so far, even though the gym at my apartment doesn't have all the resources I'd like (i.e. free barbells for squats/deadlifts) so I'm getting by mostly using free weights and a bench machine until I can get in the campus gym. I'll probably be coming back around here for basic questions once I hone my personal workout more, but for now my question is food-related. Being a poor college student it's hard enough to feed myself 2k calories a day, let alone 3k or whatever. So what other simple meals do you guys recommend to gain that extra amount of nutrients? Will definitely pick up some egg white cartons today; I've also been considering investing in a blender and mixing lots of eggs, oats and olive oil into a disgusting shake and downing that.

Is cooking the egg whites out of the question?
I thought denatured proteins (cooked) were more bioavailable than raw?

if you are skinnyfat, then you need to lose weight, which means you should almost certainly not be eating 3000 calories a day. i wouldn't worry about it.

I'm still not totally sold that I need to lose weight first... I'm definitely more skinny than fat, so maybe you get the wrong idea when I describe myself with that word. I've just got a plump belly/thighs but the rest of me is fairly scrawny so I'm not particularly eager to make myself even skinnier. I'm not totally sure at the moment but I doubt I'd weigh more than 160-170... I guess I'll just keep at my current routine and go for an even 2k cals a day (maybe a bit less via being lazy and poor). I really have no idea what direction to take my diet in now lol.
